Ron Gore kindly agreed to arrange the RA Draw and asked for 200 tickets to be ordered. We are to look into getting something organised for the Tom Oldham Quiz.

7. As the supplies officer was not in attendance there was no report from him.

8. Our good news stories included congratulations for P.Stone who had passed his Class 3. Steve Gaunt who had also passed earlier stated that he felt the course was too crammed. The Treasurer brought to our attention that the women referees using the same dressing rooms was also a good news story as explained in a national newspaper.

9. In question time Frank raised a question about players using asthma inhalers on the pitch. It was felt that as long as the player tells the referee he has one it should be OK. It was also noted that from Jan 1997 medical training for football clubs is compulsory. The Treasurer expressed to members the need to be a paid up member so Insurance is valid. Graham Speed was informed that the format for the Harold Kerr quiz was down to him.

10. After a short break our guest speaker FIFA and Premier League assistant referee Dave Horlick was asked to address the meeting. He gave a very interesting talk on all aspects of the role of the assistant referee. He also told of his experiences of travelling to other countries with FIFA. Alf Webster thanked Dave for taking time out to come and visit the Society.

11. There was no other business.

12. The meeting was closed and the members informed the next meeting was Monday 25th November. The Harold Kerr Quiz.
