Welcome to the Ormskirk and District Football Referees' Society Home Page. We meet the fourth Monday of the month August to March ( except December ) at 7.45 PM at Maghull Cricket Club, Hall Lane, Maghull, Liverpool. We are affiliated to the Referee's Association and are registered with the Liverpool County F.A. Our current membership stands at about 35 members and our meetings discuss all aspects of the refereeing side of the game. We have members who have been to the top of the refereeing pyramid and their knowledge and experience is passed on to our younger members. During our meetings we cover a wide range of topics concerning the game and it gives everyone an opportunity to air their views or have questions resolved. The range of experience in our society allows us to usually get to the bottom of any question and ensures a lively debate on most aspects football.
Our membership contains all classes of referee from the beginner to those who are steadily climbing the ranks. We are also fortunate to have ex Football League referees who have been there, seen it, and done it. We also have current referees' assessors from parks football to the Premier League as part of our membership. So as you can imagine the whole spectrum of refereeing from grass roots to Premier League is covered by the wealth of experience we are fortunate to have in our Society.
This website is an attempt to let you know what goes on in a working Society and will hopefully urge you if you don't currently referee to take up the whistle. If you are a registered referee please join a local Society or contact the Referees Association.
Currently in the Liverpool Area there are 10 affiliated Societies in operation. .
